A great way to learn new moves to add to your repertoire of performing arts skills. Learn how to do cartwheels, handstands, forward & backward rolls, while building your strength & stretching skills. Once you have the basics, you can move onto back flips, back saults, round off flips, aerial cartwheels etc.
This dance genre is often done in bare feet and can be performed to many different styles of music. Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using the gravity to pull them down to the floor. This style of dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict structured nature of ballet. It enables freedom of movement allowing their bodies to freely express their innermost feelings.
For students to participate in these classes they must do at least one ballet class as ballet is the foundation for contemporary.
