Debbie Rae Dancers are located in Thornton and Medowie and offer a range of classes from 3 years through to adults in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, cheer, acrobatics and strength/conditioning. Whether you or your child simply wishes to move for fun or strives to be taken to the next level, we can help you find the perfect classes which best suit your needs.
Our Story
Debbie founded ‘The Debbie Rae School of Dancing’ on passion and community in 1981. Over the years she has built her very own empire with multiple generations walking through her studio doors and making lifelong memories. She has always been well respected within the dance community showing plenty of dedication and love for what she does best.
Debbie Rae Dancers are renowned for their professionalism, talent and ability to entertain. The confidence and discipline the students gain from learning this artform benefits them not only in the classroom and on stage, but throughout their everyday lives. Debbie Rae Dancers have been extremely successful winning many awards in competitions and eisteddfods both locally and nationwide.
Many former students have made a career in the Performing Arts industry performing in Musical Theatre shows such as The Boy from Oz, Crazy for You and A Chorus Line, while others have held contracts with Sydney Showboat and multiple cruise lines sailing the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas. Currently many of Debbie's students are now operating their own successful dance studios.
In 2006, Debbie realised it was time to expand and ventured into opening another branch in Medowie. Jenny Burrows (Smith) is the appointed operator of this studio and we haven’t looked back. Debbie Rae Dancers – Medowie has flourished over the past 20 years, it is still growing and has earned its own reputation as a very professional studio with an enormous amount of talent.
Both studios offer a full timetable of classes in many styles of dance for students wishing to fulfil their dreams and make a career in dance or just have fun and make lots of new friends. Either way, every student learns the art, the discipline and the love of dance.
